Mind Body Heal represents a new paradigm in Health. Building on the reality that there is no separation between the “mind” and the body, they cannot be healed separately but instead healing must take into consideration the whole human being as a singular entity. The MBH approach is called Return to Health. This has evolved over years of research and testing on myself and clients.
Discovery sessions
Our first sessions of your Return to Health journey will be focused on uncovering your strengths and challenges in your life. Building up the parts of you that are working well and enhancing your positive self-image. As we locate the less productive belief systems that have been holding you back from your full potential, we will learn how to upgrade those to more productive and contemporary beliefs, releasing you from old habits and unproductive behaviors.
Stress and Anxiety Management
If you feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges, you are in great company. Everyone has difficult and painful experiences. Unfortunately, very few people are taught techniques that can greatly reduce the emotional pain and suffering it causes. The good news is you have begun the journey to renewed health. You will be taught techniques that you can do on yourself that are so effective that they will dramatically reduce your emotional pain and anxiety in just a few minutes. You will understand what is happening in your mind and body when you become “stressed” and why these techniques work so effectively. The goal is to teach you a set of management tools that will both reduce your fear of these situations as well as release you from the physically harmful impact of mental stress.
Trauma Resolution
Nobody’s childhood and formative years are perfect, even if that is how we may choose to remember it. Our adult behavior patterns are driven by past survival strategies that we employed in our younger years. As an adult some of these behavior patterns remain and limit our full functional potential. We find ourselves struggling in areas where others seem to have no problems. Public speaking, performance anxiety, shyness, lack of confidence in some areas, unreasonable fears, environmental anxiety, fear of needles, are all common early life trauma induced responses to adult situations. Some trauma is far more damaging to us, abuse, accidents, PTSD can cause us to shut out people and life in general leaving us living in perpetual survival mode including addictive behaviors. For many people these experiences are buried so deep that only their unconscious mind knows the full story. One of the best tools for Trauma resolution is Hypnotherapy. Using hypnosis combined with therapeutic strategies yields extremely powerful and often immediate relief from past trauma.
Limiting Beliefs/Phobias
Our minds are extremely powerful learning centers. Sometimes they learn a response a little too quickly and that response is too strong for a given situation or even inappropriate. For example, “stage fright” can be paralyzing. Our fear response is outsized for the actual situation. One’s life is not in danger while on stage and yet our body is terrified. This is a learned response and can be unlearned and replaced with a more empowering response like robust confidence for example. All the under or overwhelming responses to life’s situations can be reset to their most beneficial responses.
Rebuild Self-esteem
Growing up during our formative years we may not have been winners all the time or even some of times it seems. Sometimes the experience of losing or being put down at a critical time in our lives creates an oversized impact on how we view ourselves. As an adult we can carry this damaged self-image into our professional lives and relationships causing us to miss out on amazing opportunities and options. We will uncover those formative moments and rewrite the narrative, rebuilding and empowering you to stand confidently for the first time.
Performance-Self-hypnosis
You were programmed by your environment and everyone around you as you grew up. If you were lucky there were the right people telling you the right things at the right times. In those areas you are likely high functioning. Inevitably there were times when you were at the wrong place at the wrong time and with the wrong people, leading you to underestimate your abilities or even believe you can’t. How would it feel if you discovered you could be great at things you didn’t even know you could be great at? Or to be much better at something you are just OK at currently? The techniques you will learn can unlock your personal performance in ways you can’t even imagine currently. Nutrition
We live in a world that is stealing away our future health and quality of life one delicious bite at a time. We are unfortunately victims of runaway profit hungry mega corporations that spend 100’s of millions of dollars on developing emotionally addictive food-like substances that are marketed to us from our childhood. This is not opinion, it is fact and nationally over the last 50 years health outcomes have fallen off a cliff for almost everyone. It is literally almost impossible to be healthy if you have followed our government's recommended nutritional strategies. There is hope though. Luckily, it is possible to follow the science and derive nutritional strategies that work and develop real health. I have spent over 40 years studying nutrition for my own health. At 58 I have the health and vitality of a man 20 years younger, I take no medications, no Testosterone replacement therapy, I have no chronic health issues, no cavities, no high blood pressure, no issues with cholesterol, no allergies. I am simply healthy because I’ve learned how to feed and maintain the human animal body. I would love to share this strategy with you.
Excessive Body Fat
If you are struggling with excessive body fat I can help. I don’t like the term “Weight Loss” as I want you to be fast, strong and highly mobile which requires healthy muscles which is important keep! Keep the muscles lose the fat. We are interested in getting your body to use up the extra fuel it has stored as fat. Additionally, fat is not bad, it’s an amazing system of energy storage that is very important for all animals. It has been developed over millions of years to help all animals survive and thrive through the seasonal cycles of food availability. If we are carrying too much body fat we need to understand what is driving that imbalance in our health. There are many reasons why our body goes into “energy-storage” mode, such as emotional stress, the wrong nutritional strategy for your current lifestyle or epigenetics, or other variables and starts to prioritize fat over-production. Once we understand what is driving our bodies to store energy as excess fat, we can make the changes to rebalance our lifestyle and nutrition strategies. The best news is that as you resolve past emotional trauma and strengthen your mental health you will naturally become fitter, healthier, and any extra energy stored as fat will disappear without excessive exercise. It is virtually impossible to become mentally and physically healthier and continue to add excessive body fat. Rebuilding a strong, healthy, and attractive body is the outcome of Returning to Health.
Gut Health
There are an estimated 3 trillion cells in the human body. There is an estimated 300 trillion microbes that live on us and inside of us. That’s 100 “foreign” microbes to every cell that is genetically “you”. Scientifically speaking in terms of discrete living units that comprise your body, only 1% of you is “genetically” you. You are a community, much closer to a planet metaphor than an individual creature. On top of this interesting fact, these microbes produce and use all kinds of chemical compounds to influence your behavior! They essentially ARE your first defense immune system, they interact with all the dangerous toxins and microbes before they enter your body. Science is starting to catch up with the importance of gut health and microbiome diversity and its impact on your quality of life. One goal of MBH is to bring awareness and health strategies to the importance of this hidden world that comprises 99% of who and what you are genetically and chemically.
Sleep Coaching
The single greatest performance enhancing investment of your time is achieving high quality rest recovery, and repair to your mind and body in the form of sleep. Arguably the most impactful activity in our lives is sleeping. The quality of our daily recovery and repair session known as “Sleeping” will determine how successful you are in achieving the life you wish to live. Mastering sleep is absolutely critical to being completely healthy and avoiding age related issues later in life. Burning the candle at both ends burns the candle twice as fast.
Strength and mobility Training
Strength and mobility are assets just like having money in the bank. Just like money they allow you opportunities unavailable to people without these abilities. Just like any asset you have to invest time, energy, and skill in acquiring and maintaining it. And just like having money in the bank, it improves the quality of life in our later years. Being able to move your body when you want and where you want on your own terms is THE fundamental ability as a free autonomous person. When we are young, strength and mobility are just part of being alive. We don’t even think about not being able to get up off the couch and sprint up the stairs to our bedroom. We have so much energy we get in trouble for moving too much in class! Then in our 30’s we feel it. We can’t just jump up and run off in a sprint. We accept that we are starting to “get older” because that is what society has programmed us to believe. Most accept this fate and fail to enjoy much of their adult years to its maximum potential. Imagine playing with childlike abandon throughout middle age having the strength and agility of people 30 years younger than yourself. What would that be worth? We have all seen people that can do this. They are not different from you, but they have used a different health strategy that has kept them moving like they are still a person in the prime of their lives. No matter where you are on your personal journey the MBH protocol will teach you strategies to rebuild your strength and mobility no matter your age! Every Day Better.
Anti-aging strategies
Near and dear to my heart is defying “getting old” both in mind and body. After a life of committing to “stay young at heart and in body” and continue to throw down with a much younger crowd my life has been blessed with almost 6 decades of exciting adventures and sports without having to compromise for my age. It hasn’t been luck, it’s been a refined strategy that I developed over the same time period. It is continuously evolving and getting better. I’m continuously researching and experimenting on myself. “Being Successful” on the surface means something different to everyone, but in truth it can simply mean accomplishing what you set out to accomplish. It has been tied to the material world way too often and has distracted too many great minds from attaining their true personal potential. For our purposes we will define success as attainment of your personal potential in whatever area that may lie. You are unique and have much to give this world. Moving towards your personal potential will bring you the greatest happiness and personal wealth. As you move in this direction all forms of wealth will follow; Health, Relationships with amazing people, and any and all necessary material forms of wealth required to sustain it. Focusing solely on financial gain for its sake leaves everyone who attains it empty and starved for personal fulfillment. This is because we are focusing on investing in our external image rather than focusing on investing in our personal lives. How can one not feel “Successful” when they are healthy, filled with joy, and living a fulfilling life?
